I can’t believe it has been 9.5 months since R&R.; Ben left for deployment on Thanksgiving day 2008 and we had R&R; 8 months in. I was in California with the boys and met him there.
I went to pick him up from the airport and we got a hotel while my parents had the boys. We had so much fun together that 1st day. It felt like our dating years. The next day we went to get the boys and they were so happy to see their daddy! We took the boys to the beach, Knott’s Berry Farm and Sea World.
Then my parents watched them again for 2 nights as we went to Catalina Island for a few days. We had spent our honeymoon there and somehow ended back on our 7th wedding anniversary. Didn’t even really plan R&R; for that, his original date actually got pushed back. Just all seemed to fall into place.
The rest of R&R; was spent with friends and family. It was an amazing R&R; 
It was so much fun! Someday we will take our kids here to explore
