Deployments suck! No other way to put it. But as hard and frustrating as they are, R&R; is a breath of fresh air in between the frustrating year.
We have been through 2 deployments, so 2 R&Rs.; The 1st one was right after AJ was born so we didn’t really go anywhere. We just enjoyed each other and having a 4th member of our family. It was still very nice and blissful.
The 2nd R&R; was very different but just as wonderful. I was in California with the boys and Ben flew into Orange County. I had a photographer friend meet me at the airport to capture the reunion on film. It had been 8 long months since we saw each other. We had 2 wonderful weeks together. Just having fun as a family and as a couple.
During R&R; I feel more in love with my husband. I feel reconnected and I feel it is needed. I will always cherish the memories we have made during R&R.;
