Wanting to lose 30lbs in 2012

cherries

I really really want to lose 30 lbs this year. I have lost about 24lbs since Jan of 2010 but honestly have not lost a lb since the first part of October. A few days ago I stopped eating all those Christmas cookies and got back on a plan. I am using Myfitnesspal to track my calories and my exercise.

Overall I want to just start eating better. I have a problem with sweets. I am such a sweet tooth. My problem isn’t even that I want a cookie now and then. It is that I want a cookie, then a 2nd and then a 3rd. This is my biggest issue and I know it. Basically I want to retrain myself to eat everything in balance. One cookie is fine. It should be a treat. It shouldn’t be an everyday thing.

I also am watching my portion sizes. I sometimes overeat at meals. Not every time but sometimes I take a little more than I should, I eat the boy’s leftovers and then feel stuffed. I hate that.

I want to get back to walking and possibly doing the Couch 2 5K again. I have started it several times and never get very far. As for walking, I use to walk 1-2 hours 3-4 times a week. Now I hardly walk at all. I need to get back into it. My goal is to walk everyday if possible. Two days out of the week it is just the baby and I most of the day so I have no excuse then. I just put him in the stroller and he is good to go. The other days of the week I will have to work around Ben’s schedule.

I have a bunch of pants in size 12 and size 10 I really want to wear. They are just sitting here waiting for me to lose weight. That is a big motivation for me. Also, my wedding ring doesn’t fit :( I hate that.

I am trying to be realistic. I have had three babies. This body is never going to look like it once did. But that doesn’t mean I have to be overweight. It doesn’t mean I should overeat and not care. My goal weight is about 6lbs under what I was when I got pregnant with my oldest. I think that would be a great place to be :)

Who else is trying to lose weight in 2012? What are your goals? How will you achieve them?

My big goal for 2012 is to be under 200 lbs by November 1st. That is just over 100 lbs that I need to lose in order to reach that goal. My fitness pal is my favorite! I have the app on my phone so it is easy to log as I go, and even if I don't eat something that I really should, I still log it, and keep track. For November, I lost almost 10 lbs, and then the holidays all rolled in to each other. Thankfully, I have only gained a couple of those pounds back because I have been trying to watch everything, but come January 2nd (the 1st is our 7 yr wedding anniversary so I am skipping a day….but Feb will make up for it..lol), I am buckling down, and I will totally do this. I am going to be checking in at the end of each week on my blog, and would love if you headed over there next Saturday for the big 2012 weight loss kick off that I am doing for myself. I feel like tracking it, and showing my progress, and what I am doing, may be able to help others who need that extra push. Good luck!! I am sure you can do it!

I started in July with MFP and have gone down 19 or 20 pounds (need to do my most recent weigh in) with the rate of slightly more than 1 pound a week on average. I gave myself December to maintain my weight because so many of my meals were out of my control. Now I'm back to logging in and tracking everything. I've got about 8 or 9 pounds to go to hit my goal. You can do it!!

My goal is to lose 20 pounds before my birthday in June. I did weight watchers nearly 2 years ago and lost 15 pounds – now I need to get back in gear and track my meals. I lost about a pound a week that way. I also work out about 4 days a week, 2 at the gym and 2 at home, working around our 3 children. When my husband decided to join the army earlier this year I scrambled to find military spouse blogs, and your was the first one I read (we share the same name). It's been a good introduction to some of the issues that military families face.

I'd like to lose another ten. I met my last goal at the beginning of November but I'd like to set myself a new one and then be done. That's my goal for this year. To be done with weight loss.

I would like to lose about 40 pounds ~ but if I can get down 25, I’ll be happy!! I, too, use MFP ~ not like I should though! I have a problem with sweets and not exercising … I’m not bad at portions and I don’t allow myself to finish my daughter’s plate. I just need to get off my booty and move it more!!! We can do this!!!
