Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
We worry about the Military and how things could change. We worry about the Military cutbacks and wonder how they will affect us.
We worry about money. We worry that we won’t have enough.
We worry about our children. We wonder if this lifestyle will hurt them in some way. We worry that we can’t protect them from everything.
The worries really never end do they?
That is why I need to remember to keep praying and reading verses like the one in Joshua. I don’t want to be walking around worrying about everything. I want to embrace this life to the fullest. Worry gets in the way of that.
What do you worry about the most? How do you help yourself not worry as much?

Hang in there! Thank you for being an Army wife and please tell your husband thank you for his service. My hubby spent four years in the Marines, he is out now but I sometimes wonder what it would be like had he chosen it as his career. You are as brave as your hubby! Hang in there!

I come back to this verse a lot too. I think that people forget sometimes that we have to be brave as the military wives too, not just our hubbies! My favorite verse about worrying is this: Philippians 4:6-7 "do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." It's easier said than done, but for me it helps to re-read it when the worrying starts to get overpowering.

Great post Julie
I too have struggled with fear and worry. Worry when my soldier is deployed, worry about reintegration, worry about my hubby returning to civilian life, fear of what is next for our family…I refer to the verse you mentioned quite often. Also Jer 29:11 and Romans 8:28
though I worry…I am comforted by God's word and His promises

I have this scripture typed out because I need to remind myself God is the one who solves our problems. i admire you for being so brave and depending on His Word. I pray for my two sons all the time because I want them to keep on the right path in life. So when I start to worry I think pray instead. Great post.
This inspired me to become closer to God since last year many lives were lost due to earthquakes and tsunami turbulence.
