Not just an Army Wife

Army WifeArmy wife…this is my title.  My role.  I don’t mind calling myself an Army wife or a soldier’s wife.  I don’t mind the label at all.  It IS who I am.  The Army is such a big part of our lives right now that there is no way around it for me.  We have to plan our lives around the Army’s schedule whether we like it or not.

But I am more than just an Army wife.  I am a mother.   A boy mom.  A special needs mom.

I am a photographer.  I love to take pictures.  I love to share pictures.  I love to edit pictures.

I am a blogger.  I love to write.  I love to think of new ideas. I love to try to products or read new books and then write about them.

I am a reader.  I love to read.  Always have, always will.  I get that from  my Dad.

I am a friend.  I love to hang out with people.  I love to share stories and have our kids play.  I love to connect.

I am a daughter.  I have great parents.  I have a great family.  I am blessed.

I am a wife.  Not just an ARMY wife but a wife.  I have been a wife for 10 years.  I have a wonderful husband.

I am a Christian.  I love Jesus.  I love the Bible.  I love reading and trying to figure out my faith, even if it frustrates me.

I am Julie.  Not just an Army wife.

How would your describe yourself?

Love this! People are far too complex to limit themselves to the confines of one label. What boring people we would be if we were only made up of one element!

Remember that sometimes you must come second in the relationship between your husband and the Army. When the Army tells your husband that he must do something, he doesn’t have a choice. By law, he must comply with the wishes of the Army. Some wives never understand this and it is the cause of many failed marriages.
