I am back from my 10-day trip to Southern California. It was just the type of break I needed. My husband goes back to work on Monday and it is back to the SAHM role for me until June.
My husband is amazing and did quite well with the boys. He is ready to take on being a stay at home Dad after he gets out of the Army. Although this isn’t 100% yet, this is our goal 🙂
My time in California was amazing but super busy. I got to do a lot of great things and made a lot of memories.
I got to go to Disneyland, spent time with my brother and his wife, time with friends, time with my parents, went up to Oxnard to visit with my aunt and uncle, got to see some movies and just enjoyed some kid free time. I will be blogging more about my trip on my new blog, Blogging Through the Journey so go check it out 🙂
Saturday I had a lot of fun going to a blogger brunch for Bloggers Giving Back which is run by the lovely Melyssa at The Nectar Collective. I was super excited to meet The Young Retiree, Ramblings of a Marine Wife, The Newsom’s Nest and Bleu Dress Jes. These ladies are all Milspouse bloggers living in Southern California. It was also fun to meet some new bloggers from the Orange County/California area like Design With J9, With Love, Rachel and Fail Sweetly. I plan to go through the whole list of bloggers that attended sometime this weekend.

Feeling very Orange County happy in this photo…:)
A part of this brunch was bringing clothing to donate to Working Wardrobes and The Princess Project. Great organizations that provide clothing to those who need it. We had a yummy brunch and made these cool homemade bath scrubs out with coconut oil, rose petals and brown sugar. It was great to meet with other bloggers and have a great time together. They will be holding these types of events once a month. Although I will not be able to attend anymore in the near future, I plan to follow along online from Tennessee. The next event will be sending care packages to service members who might not otherwise being receiving them.
We met at Great Over Good which is a great space for local artists to work and develop their craft. Us bloggers had a lot of fun checking everything out and of course taking a lot of photos. You know you are in a room full of bloggers when everyone has a camera.
I am not sure when we will make it out to California again. We are still unsure about how the summer is going to go. I am glad I got to visit and do all the things I got to do. It was a well needed time to “relax” after that deployment.
