Have you ever heard of the Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon? It’s amazing!!! I was introduced to it when a friend told me about it in 2009. I read all the books that were out and caught up in 2012. Then I had to wait for the eighth book to come out which is did this past June. I am not reading as much as I used to but I am about halfway through it. It’s really good so far. I think I like it a bit more than An Echo In The Bone.
Here are the books…
- Dragonfly In Amber
- Drums of Autumn
- The Fiery Cross
- A Breath of Snow and Ashes
- An Echo In The Bone
- Written In My Own Heart’s Blood
For the longest time I was hoping they would have an Outlander TV show or movie. There were rumors of it for a while and then we finally heard they were going to make it a miniseries. YAY! I was able to watch the first episode but will have to wait until it comes on DVD to watch the rest since it is on Starz and we don’t have cable.
Because it is now a TV series more people are hearing about it which is great!
For those that don’t know, the story starts off right after World War Two. Claire, a nurse and her husband Frank are vacationing in Scotland after being apart from each other during the war. They are English. During their visit Claire ends up going back in time to the 1700s. She meets a man, Jamie and…I don’t want to say much more because I don’t want to ruin it for you 🙂
These books are pretty big and full of a lot of details but they are SO good! They are part love story, part-time travel, part history, part action, all amazing!
I love how the author draws you in and makes you feel like you are right there with the characters.
Because the books are so long, some parts are a little less exciting than others. There are some characters that I would rather just skip over, although I never do because I don’t want to miss something.
I love the whole story and anything time travel gets me anyway.
Have you read the books? Have you watched the series?
PS: The book is on sale on Amazon right now for just $4.99 For You Kindle!
