Our Snow Day

Tennessee finally got snow! As a little girl I used to pray for snow. I wanted to see it snow at our house. We would go up to the mountains to play in it but I always wished it would have snowed at my own home. My parents have some cool hills in their yard too. However, snow like that in Southern California is just not going to happen. It can happen here in Tennessee.

Most of our winters are a lot of cold, a lot of predictions of snow and then nothing really happening. It does seem that we do get a big snow every year and what we got Monday was more than I have seen in the last few years.

This also means that everything is shutdown until they can get the roads back to normal. I wouldn’t be surprised if the kids had off all week!

This snow isn’t melting anytime soon and the temps are going to be really low until the weekend.

There is a lot to love about snow, I really wish it didn’t have to be so cold to get it.

  1. We don’t get much here in Virginia either. I’ve been here bout 30 years and miss it quite a bit being a Northern girl by birth.

It has this magical effect of bringing out the child in most adults and it’s just so beautiful.

I never complain when we get an inch or ten and sort of get a kick out of how quickly everything closes in this area when there’s even a rumor of snow.

We currently have about five glorious inches on the ground and no melting in sight since our temps will stay below thirty for the unforeseeable future.

    btw, your pix are lovely!
