Faith Deployed…Again Review and Giveaway

September 6, 2011 by Julie 30 Comments

A few years ago I read Faith Deployed and just loved the book!  It was the perfect thing to read during our deployment.  So when I heard Jocelyn Green was going to come out with another one I was very excited about it!  I am also happy to take part in the Faith Deployed…Again Blog Tour that is taking place this week.

This book is set up the same way as the first one.  Each devotion starts with a bible verse and after is a question and a prayer having to do with the devotion.

This book is broken down into eight different sections.

    • Basic Training: Guiding Principles for Military Living
    • Intimate Allies: Protecting Your Military Marriage
    • Tour of Duty:  Overcoming Deployments and Other Separations
    • Soul Armor:  Guarding against Spiritual Attacks
    • Stationed in Christ:  Dwelling in the Lord, Near and Far
    • In God’s Service:  Living for the Lord
    • Home Front Hope:  Moving Forward in God’s Strength
    • For Blue Star Moms:  Trusting God with Your Service Member

My favorite section was “Stationed in Christ:  Dwelling in the Lord, Near and Far.”  Having lived in Germany for four years I could relate to the devotionals about being stationed overseas or in a far off place.  I also loved that there is a chapter for the moms of our service members.

What I like most about this book is that you don’t have to read it all the way through.  You can keep it on your nightstand and read a different devotion each night.  Or if you are struggling with different issues you will probably be able to find a devotion that can help.

How would you like to win a copy of this awesome book?  Jocelyn Green has given me an extra copy to give away to one of my readers 🙂

The giveaway will start today and end on Tuesday September 13, 2011.

I have read Faith Deplyed and have passed it on to a close friend whose husband just deployed. I already have Faith Deployed Again but would like to win a copy so I can send it to my friend and we can read this one together. Our husbands joined the Army at the same time and went through basic together. We actually met at their graduation and I know she would just love to read it =)

I am almost finished reading the first faith deployed so I would love to win the 2nd book to continue reading them. I read a few pages each night in bed and it really helps me understand more about deployment and my faith.

I would love to win this book because the first book has been such a help to me going through my husband and my first deployment and I know this second book will be just as encouraging. And then I can find someone to share it with.

I would love to receive a copy! My husband is deployed, just left in july. I enjoy your facebook posts and your first book. They help me handle my everyday without him home. We have 5 children ages from 7 months to 6 years old. It’s difficult doing it all alone, thats how it feels sometimes, but you have helped in many ways. Also you have helped bring me closer to God. I hadn’t been reading my bible everyday and I now take at least an hour, often more, to study his word. Thank you so much for everything!

My husband left for a 12 month deployment to Afghanistan a little over 4 months ago. Since then, I've often been finding encouragement and peace in a copy of "Faith Deployed" that a friend gave to me. I'd love to read "Faith Deployed . . . Again" the second half of this deployment.

I would like to win a copy b/c i read the first one and it helped me SO much on our deployment last year. I started to wonder if there were any other spouses out there that felt the way I did , then I'd open the book and read that it was the SAME emotions I had. It brought a little comfort and peace on those really rough days where all I felt like doing was staying in bed and crying all day b/c I was lonely.

We have our first deployment coming up at the end of this year and we just arrived at our new duty station a little over a month ago so I've found myself in an all time slump. Of course dealing with a deployment is hard enough but now I have absolutely no friends to help me through it. With all this, I have started searching high and low for every bit of help to get me through not only this deployment but with my new surroundings. I have never read the first book so I would love to be able to get in on this one. Thanks!

I have always wanted to read this book! My husband is on deployment #2 in the army and we have 3 kids, expecting #4. This has been a rough road since we have yet to live together, so this book would not only help with the deployment but with our separate living situation. More importantly though, I have several wives as well as a military mom that I would pass this forward to! Please keep the encouragement going…..I’m sure others feel this way but I don’t know what I would do without it!

Just one of the many reasons I would like to win this book: it would give me a different perspective on God and the daily encouragment I look forward to everyday with Him…my husband and I are on our fifth (over) year long deployment with four children, full time school, and part time work, my only sanity in this crazy life 🙂 is my Savior!

About Soldier’s Wife, Crazy Life

Welcome to Soldier’s Wife, Crazy Life! I am so glad you are here.

My name is Julie and I first became a military spouse in 2005 when my husband of 3 years re-joined the Army. Then, in 2014, he joined the National Guard. In January of 2024, he retired from the National Guard after 21 years of service.

During our time in the military, we got to spend 4 years in Germany as well as Tennessee where we now call home.

We have three boys and have been through four deployments together.

I hope that you can find support for your own deployments, PCS moves, or anything else military life brings you through my articles and social media posts.
