10 years! Sometimes it seems so hard to believe. 10 years has gone by so quickly. We have done a lot in those 10 years. We have lived in 7 homes. We have lived in California, Kentucky, Germany and now Tennessee. We have three boys and no pets…yet. Hoping we can change that in the next year. We have been through three deployments and a few other separations. We have been through good periods and bad. I feel so lucky to have an amazing man by my side and looking forward to the next 50 years with him π
We celebrated our anniversary twice this year. We got to spend a day and night away from the kids and went to San Fransisco. We had a great time walking around Pier 39 and down to the Embarcadero. It was just nice to spend that time together. To not have to worry about the kids or any of that. Just us, on a date. It was fantastic!
Then on Friday night our actual anniversary a good friend of mine stayed with he boys so we could go out. We went to dinner, yay Outback and then went to go see the Dark Night Rises. We loved it! It was such a great movie. It was just a great night.
When we first got married I thought our 10 year anniversary would be spent on a cruise or a trip to Europe or something big like that. In the end it didn’t work out that way and I am fine with it. With Military life and just life in general we never really know what we can do for our anniversary. I am still hoping for an anniversary cruise in the future but it will have to wait for a few years.

Sounds lovely! For our tenth I thought we’d go somewhere crazy exciting too, and when it came up last year it ended up that he was called away on a disaster relief mission. And we couldn’t have afforded something fancy like that either. But you know what, you don’t really need any of it in the end π
Glad you guys had fun!

Happy anniversary!
An ideal date now would be a night without the baby (sorry, Sophia) a nice meal with my husband and a fun activity we don’t normally get to do like going to a baseball or hockey game or a museum. (You thought I was going to suggest another activity didn’t you! π )
Judy
Really at this point I don’t know. Our unofficial anniversary is coming up (our first date was McDonald’s, and we said we would go to McDonald’s to celebrate, unfortunately the past two years we’ve been apart and been unable to celebrate together.) Then our official anniversary (and wedding date!) is a few weeks later. We’re still trying to figure out what we want to do. I’m thinking we’re probably going to end up going to a nice dinner (no idea where) and maybe a walk on the beach. Doesn’t need to be fancy or expensive to be fun and romantic right?
Jen
It sounds like you had a wonderful anniversary!!! π
Kathrynn

By the way in answer to your question, my ideal date would be something different then just a dinner and a movie maybe something like a day in Atlanta or something like that – if we had the money! π
Jennifer
I am so happy that you two have found one another. With out it I would not have met you both and found a wonderful frendship out of it.

Happy, Happy Anniversary!
Hubby was in Texas for our 15th, Iraq for our 10th Annivesary, Germany for our 5th, Africa for our 1st. You see a trend here…..I tease him that he’s deployed during milestone annivesaries just so he doesn’t have to buy me a gift! LOL!
Nicole
Happy anniversary! My ideal date would be a day at a winery π

In reality I don’t have an “ideal” dream date. Basically, as long as I have fond memories afterward, lots of laughs and lots of smiles I’d count it as a wonderful date!
Monica
I think it would be to go to an amusement park with my husband for the day. Eat junk food, ride crazy rides, spend our time standing in lines talking about everything and anything. Sounds like fun to me!

a great dinner and a movie–sometimes an evening without the kids would be wonderful too π
Jennifer Marie
I would love to go out for a romantic dinner and then a nice walk along the beach.

In reality, I have no specific date in mind. Every moment that I am with my husband, talking about anything is enough for me. Maybe because we are not always together, he is in his assigned place while I am here with my kids. Happy to see him whenever he is free to go home.
