Treat Yourself With a FabFitFun Box This Fall

August 12, 2020 by Julie

I received a free box for review from FabFitFun! This post also contains an affiliate code.

As military spouses, sometimes we don’t take the time for ourselves. We simply have too much to do. But self-care is so very important, even if we have to find it in little ways. With a spouse in the military, it isn’t always easy to get away from the house or get away for a long break.

We have to find ways to get that self-care in our homes, oftentimes while solo parenting, while our spouse is away. A monthly or quarterly box can be a great way to help with that.

You sign up, and then the box comes in the mail, as a true treat for yourself. While it might not seem like a big deal, finding little things to help with your self-care goals is important, whether it is a new lotion to try, something for your kitchen, or a new handbag.

What is FabFitFun?

FabFitFun is a seasonal subscription box with full-size fashion, beauty, fitness, and lifestyle products. Their mission is to deliver happiness to everyone everywhere and is available in the US, Canada, and the UK.

What I love about the box?

I love getting things in the mail, so when I see that FabFitFun box on my doorstep I get super excited! My favorite items are probably those that I have thought about getting, have used something similar in the past, or didn’t even know I would want but end up loving. One of my favorite products was something I got in my very first box, a salt and pepper grinder where you could put salt on one side and pepper in the other. We use it every day!

With the different beauty products, I love finding something new I have never tried before. The makeup products can be fun and they often send you some yummy smelling lotions or other types of creams.

Beyond the products, I also love that FabFitFun is dedicated to supporting female entrepreneurs. Many of the products in each box are from female-founded companies.

I also like that you can pick and choose some of the items in your box. At the same time, I also like how other items are curated by their team of experts, so there is always a little bit of a surprise. It’s like receiving a gift from someone!

What is the value of the products in a FabFitFun box?

The box is valued at over $200, and costs, $49 per season, but you would pay $39.99 if you use my code-“LITTLEHOUSE” ๐Ÿ™‚ Some of the products in the box are worth more than you would pay for the WHOLE box. Pretty cool huh? And you aren’t just getting sample sizes either, which is so nice.

Treat Yourself With a FabFitFun Box This Fall

Here is a breakdown of the FabFitFun fall box I just received for review:

Initiatives and Fall Theme:

This fall, FabFitFun’s theme is “Gather the Good” which is about finding new ways to maintain old traditions and also create new ones. It is also about embracing people that we love.

FabFitFun’s charity partner is: No Kid Hungry. They are proud to partner with them this season ensuring that kids get three healthy meals a day during this current crisis and beyond. So far, No Kid Hungry has sent more than $19 million in emergency grants to 876 schools and community groups. They help serve more than 13 million meals a day. My Easy Treezy Christmas Tree

November 22, 2019 by Julie

Easy Treezy Christmas Tree

This is a sponsored post! I received a free tree for the review!

When do you put up your Christmas tree? It seems like people are pretty divided on this. Should you wait until after Thanksgiving? What about the weekend before? Does it even really matter?

Well this year, we put our tree last week. I was super excited to receive a free Easy Treezy Christmas Tree to review on my blog, I didn’t want to wait.

With Easy Treezy you can choose from a pre-lit or a pre-decorated tree. I went with the pre-decorated because I am all about the easy here. I wanted something that didn’t take a lot of time, was easy to put up, and still looked really nice.

My Easy Treezy Christmas Tree

From the moment I opened the box to once I was done fluffing the tree was less than 25 minutes. And this was with taking some photos and checking out the parts of the trees as well as the decorations. It will be even quicker next time as I now know exactly what to do.

The Easy Treezy IS very easy! The tree came in four different parts that come together and line up with color-coded areas and magnets. That part was super quick! I usually get frustrated with artificial trees since it isn’t always easy to know where the parts go but this one is made to be easy to put together.

I spent the most amount of time plugging in the lights as each section needs to be plugged into the other sections in order to light up the entire tree. After I did that, I spent some time fluffing up the tree to get the branches to look the way I wanted and to fill in over the middle pole of the tree.

My Easy Treezy Christmas Tree

We decided to go with the slim tree as we have limited space in our Living Room. Before we got this tree I wasn’t sure what we were going to do about a tree because of this. I didn’t want the tree taking up too much of our minimal space. The slim tree is pretty perfect and fits in nicely right in front of our front window.

Our tree is 7’5 because I like a tree being taller than me ๐Ÿ™‚ But you can also get them in 5’5 if you don’t want one that tall. They also have flocked trees if that is your preference.

As far as whether you should get a pre-lit or a pre-decorated tree, that will depend on what you like. I like the decorations on the tree, I think the poinsettias are my favorite but they might not work for everyone. They are glittery so when putting up the tree I did get glitter in my living room but since the tree has been up to over a week now that hasn’t seemed to be a big issue. The decorations are fixed on the tree so you don’t take them off and reposition them or anything like that.

My Easy Treezy Christmas Tree

The lights are clear lights, and every Easy Treezy comes with 270 durable, long-lasting clear LED lights. You just need to make sure you have them all plugged into each other for the whole tree to light up.

Now, the base of the tree means that the tree won’t lean or fall over but that also means that there isn’t any space under the tree for presents.

Easy Treezy also sells wreaths and garland, as well as holiday decor kits.

My Easy Treezy Christmas Tree

I love how easy this tree was to put up, how the slim design doesn’t take up too much space, and how once I put it up, the tree was already decorated.

So, head on over to Easytreezy.com and check them out ๐Ÿ™‚ Use the code SNOW50 for $50 off any product on their website.

LuLaRoe Review and Giveaway

March 10, 2016 by Julie 8 Comments

LuLaRoe Giveaway

Have you heard of LuLaRoe? It’s a new direct sales company and it is gaining more and more popularity every day. I was recently able to review my first LuLaRoe item and I am very excited to share what I think with you. I will also be offering a giveaway for your own LuLaRoe set. Yay!

I was sent the Irma Tunic and a pair of leggings to go with it. This is the first time I have ever seen LuLaRoe in person. I have heard a lot of great things about the clothing and how soft and comfortable the clothing is. I was not disappointed. My leggings are SO soft. I love it. I have regular yoga pants but these are something else altogether. They are soft and fit well. The tunic was a pretty color of teal and is also very comfortable.

lularoe

LuLaRoe was created by a woman by the name of DeAnne Stidham. She was a single mom and wanted to be able to be home with her kids and still make an income. She started liquidating end of season dresses to friends and family and LuLaRoe grew from there.

This is from the main LuLaRoe website…

I believe in you and you can do it are the basic principles guiding LuLaRoe today. The ethos of the company was borne out of DeAnneโ€™s desire to share her experiences and to provide her family and others a foundation for personal success.

LuLaRoe exists to provide an opportunity for people to create freedom by selling comfortable, affordable, stylish clothing, and offering its consultants the independence to set their own pace and schedule. This creates the time to spend with those closest to them, the very thing DeAnne had once desired for herself!

I was given my LuLaRoe for review byย Alexandraย Lewis. She has her own group on Facebook that you must join.

LLR-Product-Description-Irma

LLR-Product-Description-Leggings

The thing to know about this company is that there is a limited supply of every print. The consultants carry the inventory and that is how you shop for what you want. That is why you should join her group if you are interested. It is the way to buy the prints that you want. She can also help you look for certain prints that might be hard to find.

Now for the giveaway.ย Alexandraย will be giving away one “mystery outfit,” Irma and leggings to one of my readers. You would just let her know the size that you need.

Taste Guru Monthly Box Review

April 24, 2015 by Julie 1 Comment

taste guru monthly box

Monthly boxes! I love them! You can get them for a variety of products. As a Taste Guruย Ambassador, I was able to review the most recent Taste Guru box full of yummy foods.

The theme of Taste Guru is the best and most interesting gluten free products. Whether you need to eat Gluten free or just choose to have some of those items on hand, this box is for you. As you can see from the photo above, I got a great variety of items. It’s a wonderful way to try a new product before you buy.

In my box I received:

Better Batter Fudge Brownie Mix

Tea’s Tea Green tea

Level Life Protein Snack Bar

Dang Coconut Chips

Mamma Chia Squeeze

Yum Earth Naturals Sour Beans

IPS Egg White Chips

Ass Kickin Honey Roasted Peanut

Nocciolata Organic Hazelnut Spread

Swoffle Traditional Dutch Treat

I made the brownies lastย weekend not knowing what to expect. I have never made Gluten free brownies before. They were so good. My boys loved them too. I would buy that mix again to make for a dessert.

The coconut chips were different but I liked the taste. I also loved the protein bar and my son loved the sour beans.

We are still working on the other items in the box but they all look pretty good.

I like how each box comes with a decription of every product so you know what you are eating. On the back you also get a receipe. Mine was for Fudge Brownies using Gluten Free flour.

As someone who doesn’t eat Gluten free that often, I was really impressed with the box and would look forward to getting another one so that I can try some yummy and healthy foods.

Fit Snack Monthly Box Review

March 16, 2015 by Julie Leave a Comment

Fit snack boxAlthough I haven’t ordered very many of them, I love the idea of the monthly box subscription. You can sign up and expect something good every month. Since I love getting mail anyway, it is really fun to see what new things the company will put in the box.

I had the opportunity to review the Fit Snack box! Here is some more information about it…

Curated monthly box featuring the best of fitness nutrition promotes a healthy lifestyle with the release of companyโ€™s first subscription box.

Denver, CO (WEB) January 6, 2015 โ€“ Fit Snack, a curated monthly box filled with exclusive, health focused snack options, announces the release of its launch box. Each month Fit Snack subscribers will be motivated towards an active lifestyle with healthy snack selections, inspirational tips, and exclusive bonus items.

Fit Snack is the brainchild of Rose Muniz, a Denver native and manager at an international consulting firm. While managing a travel oriented business career alongside her passion for fitness and nutrition, Rose realized a void in the health and fitness world: the difficulty of finding healthy snacks on the go! Once inspired, she used her business expertise in conjunction with her passion for healthy living to develop Fit Snack, a subscription box devoted to providing satisfying and nutritious snacks to-go.

โ€œGood nutrition affects your mood, energy levels, and provides clarity of mind,โ€ Rose explains. โ€œDecision-making, positive attitude, and problem solving are pivotal aspects of being successful, whether at a Fortune 500 company, spending quality time with family, or training for a marathon.โ€

Fit Snack has arrived with the mission to save subscribers the time, money, and effort involved in the search for ddelicious and nutritious foods. Most diets have one common goal โ€“ nutrient dense energy. To provide this Fit Snack includes what they call a mix of the โ€œPerfect 10โ€ in each box. A focus on snacks with high protein, complex carbs, low sugar, GMO free, paleo, gluten free, clean eating, sustainable, organic, and raw.

โ€œI love to motivate and inspire people to live a healthy life,โ€ said Muniz. โ€œFit Snack is all about making an active lifestyle fun and social. We have positioned Fit Snack to help encourage our subscribers to reach their goals through sharing their progresss with each other on our social channels.โ€

Fit Snack is applying the social model to its partners as well. In order to share exclusive behind the brand views, Fit Snack will showcase a โ€œBrands We Loveโ€ interview every month, which will highlight the history of a Fit Snack partner as well as go into detail about how their product is made.

Fit Snack offers several different subscription plans including 1-month, 3-month, 6-month, and annual subscription options. Monthly box prices start at $15.00 (+ $5 S/H) and provide double that value within eachย box.

I got my box in the mail a few weeks ago and have been enjoying a lot of my snacks.

This is what I got…

Fit Snack Box

IMG_2677

It was really great to get a box like this because it introduced me to some new foods. I had no idea about the Compete Energy Bites but I loved them. I also really liked the Simply 7 chips, especially the sea salt flavor. I will be buying more of those for sure. The Level Life bar is also something I think I will purchase for myself. I enjoyed the almond mix too and used it on my salads. There were a few things in box that just were not my thing like the Lemon poppy-seed cookie. I would say I was happy with about 90% of the box and glad to try those snacks. I am curious if I would have the same results with another box.

I found the packaging to be good too and it came in a nice and sturdy box that I could keep my snacks in while I was trying them. The variety is nice. Not all of the same type of food.

This box would be great for anyone that likes food. It is fun to try new snacks and get a feel for something you might not have thought about before.

If you are interested in signing up for a box, you can do so here.

* I received this box for free in hopes of a review on my blog!ย

K5 Website Review

August 6, 2014 by Julie 1 Comment

Butterfly girl FT

Summer is over! At least for us here in Clarksville, TN. Back to the regular routine of the school year. I was glad that I was able to review theย K5 reading programย over the summer. My nine year old was the one who used it.

To start I had him take the Readingย assessmentย to see what level he was at. This was helpful so I could see where he was. He has struggled with reading so it was helpful to know where he was at the start of the program.

Each time he went into the lesson I had him do three rounds. This took him about 15 minutes. What is so great about it too is that as a parent I can go in and see how he is doing. I can look up the assessment results as well as how he is doing overall on the lessons. He also has his own login which is nice. There is nothing to download. You just go to the site and login.

Here is a little bit more information about the program…

The K5 program includes:

  • an initial online assessment of each childโ€™s math and reading skills,ย
  • ย award-winning, curricula based reading and math content,ย
  • over 3,000 online multimedia activities, personalized for each child based on his or herย assessment,ย
  • a highly structured environment which allows the student to proceed through the lessonsย in a logical fashion at his own pace,
  • ease of use which allows even 4 or 5 year olds to work independently,ย
  • ย attention to child safety with no external links, advertisements, chat or similar,
  • comprehensive reporting to parents,ย
  • 24/7 availability and no downloads

Overview

K5 Learning (www.k5learning.com) is an online reading and math program for kids from
kindergarten through grade 5. Our intent is to help kids build reading, math and study skills
through independent study. K5 is designed for home use and can be used for after-school,
weekend and summertime supplemental study or in conjunction with a homeschooling program.
How it Works
Kids complete an online assessment of 8 key reading and math skills, and then work
independently at their own pace through over 3,000 online lessons and activities. The lessons
are animated, interactive and simple enough that a 4-5 year old can use them independently. We
automatically choose lessons for students (based on their assessment and past lessons), track
student progress and provide reports for parents.
Benefits for Kids
K5 helps kids learn essential reading and math skills, develop good study habits, and fulfill their
academic potential.
Benefits for Parents
K5 makes life easier for parents by allowing for effective, independent study by kids. Simplified
interfaces, automatic lesson selection, student tracking and reporting all contribute to minimize
the amount of daily supervision required.
Who we are

K5 Learning was founded by parents who wanted better learning tools available to their kids for

home use. In 2010, we licensed the very best reading and math software, used by thousands of

students in hundreds of schools, from leading U.S. education companies. K5 Learning is
formed from the combination of this award winning software

try-banner300x100-bottom-text

Program Costs
K5 is available on a subscription basis for $25/month or $199/year with substantial discounts for
siblings. Each subscription includes a free math and reading assessment and unlimited use of
each of K5โ€™s four programs, K5 Reading, K5 Math, K5 Spelling and K5 Math Facts. A 14 day
free trial is available.

You can sign up for your free 14 day trial here!

* I was given a free six week trial of this product for review. Opinions are my own.

Steel Magnolias on Lifetime Tv

September 17, 2012 by Julie 3 Comments

Steel Magnolias

Did you know that Lifetime Television is about to release a new version of Steel Magnolias? I was super excited to hear this as I am a fan of the original with Julia Roberts. I was given the opportunity to watch the movie and Ben and I did so last weekend. After we watched the new version we decided to watch the older version because it had been a while since I had seen it. Here is some information on the new one which will air Sunday October 7th, at 9pm/8pm Central on Lifetime.

ALL-STAR CAST FEATURES QUEEN LATIFAH,
PHYLICIA RASHAD, ADEPERO ODUYE, CONDOLA RASHAD
WITH JILL SCOTT AND ALFRE WOODARD
Film Executive Produced By Award Winning Duo CRAIG ZADAN and NEIL MERON
QUEEN LATIFAH, SHAKIM COMPERE and SHELBY STONE Also Executive Produce
Film Directed By KENNY LEON

Steel Magnolias chronicles the lives and friendship of six women in Louisiana. ย Supporting each other through their triumphs ad tragedies, they congregate at Truvy’s beauty shop to ponder the mysteries of life and death, husbands and children – and hair and nails – all the important topics that truly unite and celebrate women.

Queen Latfiah will play “M’Lynn,”ย Phylicia Rashad as “Clairee,” Adepero Oduye as “Annelle,” Condola Rashad as “Shelby, ” Jill Scott as “Truvy” and Alfre Woodard as “Ouiser.”

ย

My Thoughts: I thought it was great! It truly was an updated version of the original. Most of the dialog is the same and the new actors did a great job of becoming the original characters. They did update things for the times. The original was in the 1980s so instead of talking about a VCR they would mention a PlayStation. Although they all did a wonderful job I especially loved Queen Latifah’s role as Mโ€™Lynn. She brought all the right emotion to her role.

What I love about Steel Magnolias is that it will make you laugh and it will make you cry. This movie didn’t disappoint.

So go now and set your DVRs if you have one. You don’t want to miss this!
