LuLaRoe Review and Giveaway

March 10, 2016 by Julie 8 Comments

LuLaRoe Giveaway

Have you heard of LuLaRoe? It’s a new direct sales company and it is gaining more and more popularity every day. I was recently able to review my first LuLaRoe item and I am very excited to share what I think with you. I will also be offering a giveaway for your own LuLaRoe set. Yay!

I was sent the Irma Tunic and a pair of leggings to go with it. This is the first time I have ever seen LuLaRoe in person. I have heard a lot of great things about the clothing and how soft and comfortable the clothing is. I was not disappointed. My leggings are SO soft. I love it. I have regular yoga pants but these are something else altogether. They are soft and fit well. The tunic was a pretty color of teal and is also very comfortable.

lularoe

LuLaRoe was created by a woman by the name of DeAnne Stidham. She was a single mom and wanted to be able to be home with her kids and still make an income. She started liquidating end of season dresses to friends and family and LuLaRoe grew from there.

This is from the main LuLaRoe website…

I believe in you and you can do it are the basic principles guiding LuLaRoe today. The ethos of the company was borne out of DeAnne’s desire to share her experiences and to provide her family and others a foundation for personal success.

LuLaRoe exists to provide an opportunity for people to create freedom by selling comfortable, affordable, stylish clothing, and offering its consultants the independence to set their own pace and schedule. This creates the time to spend with those closest to them, the very thing DeAnne had once desired for herself!

I was given my LuLaRoe for review byAlexandraLewis. She has her own group on Facebook that you must join.

LLR-Product-Description-Irma

LLR-Product-Description-Leggings

The thing to know about this company is that there is a limited supply of every print. The consultants carry the inventory and that is how you shop for what you want. That is why you should join her group if you are interested. It is the way to buy the prints that you want. She can also help you look for certain prints that might be hard to find.

Now for the giveaway.Alexandrawill be giving away one “mystery outfit,” Irma and leggings to one of my readers. You would just let her know the size that you need.

Man Crates For Holiday Gifts

December 14, 2015 by Julie 2 Comments

Man Crates

Man Crates! Have you ever heard of this company? I had off and on but I was given the chance to review one of their boxes and I am glad I did. They have a lot of great boxes to choose from which makes it easier to pick something out when you are looking for holiday gift ideas. The idea behind Man Crates is that each of them comes in either a box like the one pictured above or a steal Ammo can. Each one has a theme. Some examples are coffee, bbq, golfing, fishing, video games, beer, outdoorsmen and even bacon. There is pretty much a crate for every type of person which is great.

Man Crates For Holiday Gifts

When you get the crate, you have to open it with a crowbar which makes it kinda fun. It comes in a big wooden box. I found it a bit challenging to open it up although they do supply you with a mini crow bar. I would make sure to not have a child open it as it could be a little hard for them. After opening it up, you will find all the items in the box ready for you to use, play with or cook with.

We went with theRETRO GAMER CRATE which is perfect if you grew up in the 1980s. This is what came in it:

Man Crates For Holiday Gifts

Makeshift Time Machine

  • Retro-Bit NES Console
  • 2 classic Nintendo games
  • (randomly selected from an assortment of time-honored, awesome games)

Sugar Intoxication

  • Red Vines
  • Bottle Caps
  • Mike & Ike
  • Nerds
  • Now and Later
  • Jaw Busters
  • Pop Rocks
  • Pez

We received Mario/Duck Hunt and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. You just plug the console in and start to play. My kids cracked me up because they started to play the game and had to tell us how old it looked 😉 Lots of good memories with Mario and I believe my brother might have had the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle game at one time too.

The candy was great. They included a Darth Vader Pez Dispenser which was nice and a favorite. My husband LOVES Red Vines so those were the first to be eaten.

The great thing about Man Crates is that they also ship to APO/FPOs. This means you can pick one out for your deployed husband or friend stationed overseas. I would have done that if I had known about this company when my husband was last deployed. They do have limits on what they are allowed to ship so that is important to keep in mind when you are looking into ordering one for someone overseas.

They also offer 10% discount to active and retired servicemembers and their families so make sure to check Man Crates out when you are doing your holiday shopping this year.

Yummy Snacks With The Hickory Farms

Food! Holiday food! Snacks! Tis the season for simple and yummy treats!

There is just something about holiday snacks that I love. Days off, hanging out at home in the winter when it is cold outside and having a lot of yummy snacks available to eat. It’s one of my favorite parts about this time of year. It just isn’t the same during the warmer months.

Yummy Snacks With The Hickory Farms

I always like to make cookies but it is also nice to have a box from Hickory Farms around the house as well. I was able to review theHickory Farms Summer Sausage and Cheese Gift Box this year and we have loved it.

Yummy Snacks With The Hickory Farms

This is what came inside:

  • (2) 7 oz. Beef Sausage
  • 5 oz. Medium Cheddar
  • 5 oz. Creamy Gouda
  • 5 oz. Apricot Spread
  • 4 oz. Mixed Nuts
  • 4 oz. Nut Snack Mix
  • 1.5 oz. Sea Salt Flatbread Crackers
  • (11 oz.) Hot Pepper Bacon Jam
  • (8.5 oz.) Smokey Onion Mustard
  • Gift Crate

Yummy Snacks With The Hickory Farms

Me and the boys have been going through the beef sausage and the nuts were gone in a day. It is great to have a box of goodies around to munch on between meals. I love that this box also came with some crackers to eat with everything else. There is a little something for everyone to like even if you have some picky eaters. My son who is picky about almost everything LOVES the sausage. He can’t get enough. And the mustards can be used on so many things during this time of year. I also love the wooden crate in came in. I know I can use that for storing other things in my pantry the rest of the year.

Hickory Farms

Hickory Farm boxes make the best gifts. You can pick out a nice box filled with treats for your family and friends to enjoy.

Did you know that Hickory Farms offers FREE shipping to APO/FPO military addresses on select products at hickoryfarms.com? I love when a company is good about Military addresses and offers free or reduced shipping to those with an APO or FPO address.

Check out their website and see if there is anything you or your family would like to order. You will be glad that you did 🙂

July 14, 2015 by Julie Leave a Comment

Military Kids' Life Cover Issue 2

Have you heard ofChameleon Kids? It’s mission is to inspire kids in Military families. They have a wonderful magazine called, Military Kids’ Life that was launched in April 2015 and I was able to review a copy! This magazine an exciting mix of articles based on a quarterly theme to help kids find the adventure in their military lives.

logo_w_digicam

The target age is 6 to 14-year-old boys and girls in military families (Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy, Active, Reserve, National Guard.) The magazine will come out quarterly and will cost $12.95 for an annual subscription and$3.95 single copy.

magazines for Military kids

I really enjoyed looking through this magazine. The articles were great. I especially loved the ones from the kids about living overseas. Those would be ideal for a child getting ready to move to a new location. There are also articles with recipes, about pets and other topics that would be of interest to Military children.

The magazine is filled with beautiful photos to go with the stories. It also feels like the price is worth the cost. There is enough in it to make it worth buying and not feel like you are paying too much for just a couple of pages.

Although it is geared for older kids, it is great for us moms and dads too. We can even share some of the stories with our younger children.

The Wounded Warrior’s Wife By Hannah Conway Review and Giveaway

July 8, 2015 by Julie 2 Comments

The Wounded Warrior’s Wife

I love hearing about Military Spouses that write fiction. As a big reader, it is great to be able to read a fictionalized version about something I have experienced. The Wounded Warrior’s Wife written by fellow Army wife, Hannah Conwayis one of those books.

Based in Ft. Carson, Colorado, The Wounded Warrior’s Wife is the story of Whit and Collier, an Army couple. They go through a lot of challenges from Korea to a deployment to the effects of that deployment. As an Army wife myself, I could relate to some of this book because I had gone through the same type of thing. I related to some of Whit’s feelings of not being sure about how to handle everything that was going to come her way.

This book brings up the loss of life during the war, PTSD, having a baby while your husband is gone, friendships, sick parents, sick children, life on post, depending on God and more.

Although not every Military spouse goes through the exact same thing, this is one story that could have happened during the last few years of deployments and war overseas.

Even though this is Hannah’s first book, I have a feeling she is going to have a great career as a writer and looking forward to reading more of her novels.

Want to win a copy of this book? How about we throw in a $5 gift card to Starbucks too? That way you can get your book, get some coffee and have some much deserved me time 🙂

Just enter the Rafflecopter below 🙂

Buy Glasses Online With Firmoo Eyeglasses

June 30, 2015 by Julie 1 Comment

Buy Glasses Online With Firmoo Eyeglasses

I have had to wear glasses from the time I was about 16 years old. Over the years I have worn so many different pairs of glasses. I would love to eventually get Lasik but it just isn’t possible right now. After I go to the eye doctor I usually like to buy at least two pairs of glasses, sometimes three. I like to change them out and have choices.

One of the ways I have been able to do this to buy some of them online. They are much more affordable then glasses you might find in the mall or other stores.

That was why I was excited to do a review of Firmoo Eyeglasses. I have never ordered from them before but I had a good experience when I did.

I got to look through a bunch of glasses to decide on which ones I wanted. I am pretty picky but found one that I thought I would like. You never know 100% when you are picking them online but I was very happy with what I got. I love the teal on the sides.

To order I needed to have my prescription handy and had to enter it in. I also needed to know my pupillary distance which is the distance between the centers of your pupils when looking straight ahead. You can figure this out using a ruler and a mirror or a friend or husband who is willing to help.

Once you have entered that information you can customise your glasses. You pick what type of package you want or customise to find what you are really looking for. You can also get your glasses non-RX if you would like.

If you visit the Daily New section you can see their updated selection. They add new frames everyday.

You can also get 15% off your first pair!

* I received a free pair of eyeglasses in exchange for this review. All thoughts are my own.
